Lynda and Tyrel were introduced to one another by a mutual friend. They both grew up playing hockey, had a love of animals, farming, small towns and fitness. They were a match made in heaven.
I met Lynda at a wedding event in Airdrie last year. I was about to leave when she saw my album and asked to chat a bit more about photography. We spent the next two hours together, hardly talking about pictures at all actually. She reserved her date on the spot. Lynda is the kind of person you want to be friends with from the moment you meet her. As bubbly and fun as she is, her face truly lit up when I asked her about Tyrel. When asked about what drew her to her now husband, she said she first fell in love with his voice.
Their wedding was in Drumheller on New Years Eve. The day started nice and early with the girls getting ready in an adorable little bed and breakfast. I have been blessed to work with Ferdi on several occasions and was happy to see him and his associate were the videographers for the day. Jordon (friend of the bride and a fabulous stylist) did a fantastic job creating beautiful hairstyles and hardly had time to do her own to get to the wedding on time! Lynda slipped on her delicate gown by Novia Mia and picked up her exquisite handmade bouquet made by Tyrel's cousin Alisha, along with his Aunt Susan and his mom, Bonny. Alisha did the creative piece too! What a talented group of people who put so much love into the amazing details.
We drove out to their friends property which has the most adorable cabin you've ever seen. Lynda got out of the truck to meet her groom and enjoy a (cold) private moment. The rest of the bridal party joined them and we had a ton of fun with pictures. I could have kept clicking with this gorgeous group of people, but the ceremony was about to start so we jumped in our trucks and headed to the Badlands Community Facility.
Lynda told me the part of the day she was most excited for was to give Tyrel his wedding gift (Tyrel had given her a donkey for her gift!) Tyrel drives a chariot during rodeo season. He is known for using bright yellow tack and wearing lime green shoes. One of his favourite pass times is Lego. Lynda combined his passions and had a custom package of Lego made of his cart team. The gift left the groom speechless. He was blown away by his bride's thoughtfulness.
Lynda's talented cousin, Deidra, sang her down the aisle. A flower was placed on the seat of the mother of the bride, who Lynda and her family said goodbye to just three years ago.
Tyrel re engineered the church backdrop and linens where hung from the ceiling. The handmade God's knot was included in the ceremony to represent the bride and groom coming together with God. The handy groom also made the stands where wedding gowns of their family and ancestors were displayed. Pictures of family and those who were watching from heaven were displayed throughout the lobby. What really made the ceremony though was their fur puppy, Blue, who stood proudly watching the 'I do's'.
After the ceremony, food was ate (their own meat!), drinks were drunk and a surprise guest, Mr. Don Cherry came out to congratulate the newlyweds and take a few jabs at the wedding party!
Honestly I could go on and on about this couple, their love and their amazing wedding. In her speech, the bride turned to me and said, 'To my photographers, my now friends, thank you for being here'. I was happy to have my camera to hide my tears! Tyrel and Lynda have indeed turned into friends. I am so excited to see what the future has for them.
Mr. & Mrs. Miller, thank you for having Jacey and I to document your very special day. Congratulations!
