Marianne purchased her stunning wedding gown from Taffeta and Tulle Bridal store from the wonderful Marisza. I have been lucky enough to photograph Marisza's wedding years ago and continue to capture the moments of her family. Marianne contacted me after seeing some of my work and we arranged a meeting. I was welcomed into her home in Airdrie and we chatted for hours. When I left I felt like I had known her for years. Marianne told me about her family back in Brazil, we talked about her culture and how she traveled while building her own business. Her face lit up when she started telling me the story of meeting the man of her dreams. Marianne is not the kind of person to settle for less than what she knows she wants. This is evident when you look at how she runs her business and has certainly bled into her personal life. Well that way of thinking has certainly paid off. Marianne took all the signs God was sending her that led her right to the arms of Riccardo.
Marianne was very hands on for her wedding. Along with friends and family, she made the food and planned all the decor. The venue was nestled in the Alberta forest just outside the town of Bragg Creek. The bride was facetiming her mom when I walked in the room. Her mom had had her hair and make up done in Brazil and was beaming with excitement for her only daughter. Both the bride and groom couldn't stop smiling on the morning of their wedding. Marianne walked down the aisle to meet her groom. Riccardo's brother married the couple as their nephew fell asleep on his grandfather. Guests blew bubbles as the newlyweds made their way back up the aisle and paused for one more kiss.
After family and formal photos were taken, the delicious food was presented. Coconuts, salads, pasta, meatballs and an assortment of fruits and breads were served. Marianne's maid of honour read messages from Brazil, thoughtful speeches were made and the bride and groom surprised everyone with singing a beautiful song to one another. The weather was perfect as the sun set and the music was turned up.
I was nine months pregnant at this wedding and I was beyond grateful that Marianne trusted me to capture the moments of her big day. All of the family were so easy to fall in love with, constantly asking if I was ok and ignoring me when I said I didn't need anything! Everyone brought me water and food and were so kind throughout the day. I was very honoured to be a part of it and I am so looking forward to photographing their upcoming milestones (we already have plans!)
