A last minute detour was made between the ceremony and reception at Whitney and Tyler's wedding earlier this May. The maid of honour went into labour the day before the wedding! They were still at the hospital so we stopped in to take some photos. I felt so blessed to meet this little family and capture these moments. I was going to do a longer blog on how emotional the visit was but I thought I would borrow the words written by Jaxon's mommy instead:
Dustin DesLauriers and I are proud to announce the birth of our precious little boy Jaxon Thomas Joseph DesLauriers. Born at 39 Weeks, Saturday, May 19th at 2:12pm in Canmore Alberta.
6lbs 11oz
18” long
From Canmore to the Grey Nuns NICU, we have finally made our way home and we are so thrilled to get to know this little guy. Jaxon was diagnosed with cleft lip during my 18 week ultrasound and they could not determine if the palate would be affected until birth. At first it was quite hard for Dustin and I as this does not run on either side of our families. But, the support, knowledge, and positivity given to us by The Stollery since week 18 has been incredible; we are so lucky to have this hospital so close to home.
Jaxon was born with a complete right side cleft, meaning both his lip and palate are affected. We have already met with some of the Cleft Lip and Palate team at the Stollery and we have a plan in place to correct his cleft.
The week has been quite the journey and this little guy just really wanted to crash the wedding of the year for his Aunty Whitney Ogilvie and Uncle Tyler Ogilvie.
Remember When Photography was kind enough to let us share some photos they took during some of the most memorable moments for my little sister and I. We ended up missing the ceremony but was able to make a quick appearance later that night. Thank you Brittny for capturing these moments for Whitney and I
