I was fresh out of photography school from MRU when I first met Monica. She owned a wedding consignment shop here in Calgary and allowed me to use a beautiful gown for my first ever styled shoot. Since then Monica and I have kept in touch while we have undergone many transitions in both our professional and personal lives.
I was delighted to plan a lifestyle shoot with Monica. She is hosting a few events this year where she needed some photos to put a face to the name. Monica specializes in helping moms use their time efficiently in order to 'have it all'. Personally, I often feel guilty. When I'm cleaning the house I feel guilty for not working, when I'm working I feel guilty for not spending time with the children, and so on. Reading Monica's updates have given me many useful tricks I can use to free up some time in my day. After reading a recent blog post of de-cluttering, my 7 year old and I are donating toys, books and other things we don't use. We have been going room by room, box by box and I'm so excited every time we have one completed! I've been avoiding the garage though...
You can follow Monica by checking out her website, Wishahmon, or on facebook. Monica will also be my first guest blogger now that I'm starting to get the hang of this blog/social media thing!
Here are a few of my favourite images from our session together. I always have such meaningful conversations with Monica, and if I had a sitter for the rest of the afternoon, we'd have stayed drinking bubble tea at Chatime!
